Here are the updated renders from UE5 of my 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R 3D model, which I created for a vehicle project in my second year at Ringling College of Art and Design. I was tasked with creating a 1:1 3D replica of a vehicle of my choice, with a limited triangle count (125k) and materials, all within an 8-week deadline. Throughout this project, I faced numerous challenges in optimizing the polycount and accurately replicating the complex flow of the vehicle. However, I ultimately succeeded in developing a proficient workflow for hard-surface modeling, as well as gaining a deeper understanding of topology and 3D modeling overall. The textures were produced using a combination of Photoshop, Substance 3D Painter, and Unreal Engine materials. The total triangle count came to 124,733.
